Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Moonlit (the "App"), provided by Codeful ("we," "us," "Moonlit"). By installing, opening, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please uninstall Moonlit and stop using it.

1. The service

Moonlit is an iOS app (with companion Apple Watch app and home-screen / lock-screen widgets) that:

• Lets you capture one selfie per day during a time-locked evening window;
• Computes a 0 – 100 score on six skin axes (acne, redness, oiliness, hydration, texture, pigmentation), comparing your scan only to your own past;
• Surfaces a "change vs yesterday" delta and a 30-day trend;
• Suggests one nightly action and (optionally) one product, drawn from your own routine and a curated K-beauty catalog;
• Optionally syncs with Apple Health menstrual data to inform on-device hints about cycle phase.

Moonlit is a personal-tracking and journaling tool. It is not a medical, dermatological, diagnostic, or treatment device. See Section 6.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area) to use Moonlit. By using Moonlit you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between the minimum age and 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

Moonlit's content is intended for adult skin and includes references to hormonal cycle, post-acne pigmentation, and similar adult-skin contexts.

3. Your account & data

• Moonlit does not require an email or password. The app is bound to your Apple ID via iCloud and StoreKit.
• You are responsible for safeguarding the iPhone (and Apple Watch) on which Moonlit is installed and for the Apple ID used to sign in.
• One person, one device set. Do not impersonate others. Do not let third parties use the App on your behalf to log their skin under your Apple ID.
• You can delete all your Moonlit data at any time from Settings → Delete all data. This wipes selfies, scores, routine entries, and the on-device store. iCloud copies are deleted via Apple's standard propagation.

4. Subscription terms

Moonlit offers premium membership through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Prices below are the United States storefront at launch; local prices are set by Apple based on your storefront and may change.

4.1 Auto-renewing subscriptions

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• The renewal fee is the same as the original purchase price unless we notify you otherwise at least 30 days before renewal.
• Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions. We do not have access to cancel for you.
• Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one.

4.2 Free trial

• If a free trial is offered, it ends automatically. You will be charged for the next period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• One free trial per Apple ID. Re-installing the app does not reset the trial.

4.3 Free tier

• Without a subscription, you can capture daily selfies and see your score, but advanced features (full 30-day trend, axis-level history, product recommendations, cycle-aware hints) require a subscription.

4.4 Price changes

• We may change subscription prices for new sign-ups at any time.
• Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price change to their tier and may cancel before the change takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose;
• Capture and submit selfies of anyone other than yourself, or anyone who has not given you explicit consent;
• Capture or upload images of minors except as the parent or legal guardian of the minor and only for that minor's use, where age permits;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the analysis pipeline, model weights, or proprietary scoring algorithms;
• Use any automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the App or the Moonlit website;
• Interfere with our services or other users' use of the App;
• Use Moonlit to make claims about other people's skin, brands, or products in a way that is misleading or that violates applicable cosmetic-advertising or unfair-competition law (including but not limited to Korea's Cosmetics Act and FTC truth-in-advertising rules in the US);
• Use the App or its outputs to provide medical, dermatological, or clinical advice to others.

6. Health & medical disclaimer

Moonlit is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and it is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• The 6-axis score is a self-comparison number (0 – 100) and does not map to any clinical grading scale (Hayashi, GAGS, IGA, Fitzpatrick, etc.).
• The "change vs yesterday" and 30-day trend are personal data points, not clinical assessments.
• Action and product suggestions are general informational hints based on your own logged data — they are not personalized medical advice.
• If you have a skin concern that is painful, persistent, sudden, severe, or appears to involve a mole, lesion, or atypical growth, consult a qualified dermatologist. Do not rely on Moonlit for those decisions.
• The App is not designed to detect skin cancer, infections, or any clinical condition. Do not use it for those purposes.

7. Product recommendations

• Moonlit may surface skincare products as suggestions based on your routine, axis weakness, and a curated catalog. These are informational, not endorsements.
• We measure efficacy in your own routine, not brand safety. We do not rate brands as safe / unsafe and do not claim a product will produce a specific result for you.
• If a recommendation is fulfilled via an affiliate link, we may receive a small commission. This does not change the price you pay, and we disclose any affiliate relationship in-app at the point of recommendation.
• Always read product labels and patch-test new actives. Discontinue use and consult a dermatologist if you experience adverse reactions.

8. Intellectual property

• The App, our website, the design system, the analysis pipeline, model weights, and product copy are owned by Codeful and protected by copyright, trademark, and trade-secret laws.
• You retain all rights to your selfies, your routine entries, and your scores. We do not claim a license to use them beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the App for you (Section 4 of the Privacy Policy).
• "Moonlit," the Moonlit logo, and the Grown-up Glow design system are trademarks of Codeful.
• Brand names and product names referenced inside the App belong to their respective owners. Their inclusion is for catalog and identification purposes only and does not imply endorsement of Moonlit by the brand or vice versa.

9. Third-party services

Moonlit relies on third-party services for some functionality (Apple iCloud, Apple StoreKit, Apple HealthKit, Apple Vision, model-inference endpoints). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes in those services.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE APP IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CODEFUL, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM (A) YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP; (B) ANY ACTION YOU TAKE BASED ON THE APP'S OUTPUTS; (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR SERVERS; OR (D) ANY HEALTH-RELATED CONSEQUENCE OF FOLLOWING OR FAILING TO FOLLOW MOONLIT'S SUGGESTIONS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (ii) US$ 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so the limitations above may not apply to you.

12. Termination

• You may stop using Moonlit at any time by uninstalling it. Subscriptions are cancelled separately via your Apple ID.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
• Sections 5 – 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea — except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the app and dated at the top of this page. Continued use of Moonlit after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
